1. Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), consumers are entitled to guarantees that goods must:

be of acceptable quality

be safe and free from major defects
-
match their description
-
be fit for the purpose advertised
If a product has a major failure, customers are entitled to a refund or replacement.
If a product has a minor issue, the business may choose a remedy.
Don Jordy’s does not offer repairs, as our products (foods, yerba, mates, accessories) are not repairable items.
2. Change-of-Mind Returns
For health, safety and hygiene reasons, and due to the nature of consumable goods, we do not accept returns for change of mind on:

Yerba mate (opened or unopened)
-
Food items (alfajores, dulce de leche, snacks)
-
Mates that have been used, washed, or handled
-
Bombillas or products used orally
This does not affect your rights under the ACL if the product is faulty.
3. Returns for Faulty or Incorrect Items
If your product arrives:

damaged,

faulty,
-
unsafe, or
-
significantly different from its description,
you are entitled to a replacement or refund.

Shipping costs for faulty or incorrect products are covered by Don Jordy’s.
4. IMPORTANT – Natural Product Disclaimer for Calabash Mates
Some of our mate gourds are made from calabaza natural (a natural fruit).
This means:

Each mate is unique.
-
Natural variations will occur in size, shape, thickness, texture, and color.
-
No two calabash mates are identical.
-
Approximate measurements may vary by 1–3 cm depending on the natural growth of the fruit.
-
These variations are normal and do not constitute a product fault under the Australian Consumer Law.
These items are considered artisanal and natural products.
A refund or replacement will only apply if:

the mate arrives broken,
-
is unsafe to use, or
-
has a major defect beyond natural variation.
5. Products Not Eligible for Return (Unless Faulty)
The following items cannot be returned for hygiene or safety reasons unless defective:

Yerba mate
-
Alfajores / dulce de leche / edible products
-
Bombillas (used or opened)
-
Mates (used, washed, cured or handled)
-
Gift packs containing food
6. Orders with Incorrect Address or Uncollected Parcels
If a parcel is returned to us because the:

address was incorrect or incomplete,
-
customer failed to collect the item, or
-
delivery was refused,
the customer is responsible for:
-
re-shipping fees, or
-
receiving a partial refund (minus shipping costs).
7. Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled only before shipment.
Once dispatched, cancellation is no longer possible.
8. Refund Process
When a refund is approved:

Refund is issued to the original payment method

Processing time: 3–7 business days
